Under TV Shelf
The under TV shelf is a necessity no matter how you store your
television. But what about all your other TV components? Where will your Blu Ray player sit? What about your
computer game console? There are many different ways to store your television and you may have spent some time
thinking about what sort of stand/shelf you would like to put it on.
Which kind of shelf you require depends on how you have stored
your television. If your TV is hanging on the wall as is popular nowadays, it is possible to get wall mounts with
hanging shelves. These usually come with either one or two shelves so you should choose how many shelves you need
depending on how many electrical items you need to store under your TV.
Another option is to have an entertainment unit sitting
separately underneath your TV. These vary in size and style so you can choose one which meets your needs and
matches the décor in your room. Some of these units even come with drawers which are useful for storing the many
remote controls that seem to build up with electrical equipment and the hand held remotes for your computer game
consoles.
If your television is on a shelf, it is possible to buy a
multi-shelved rack in the first place, but if not you can buy shelves which attach to the TV shelf for component
use. One multi-shelved version is by Black Forest Décor. They do a lovely Log Corner TV Shelf with VCR/DVD Shelf.
Although it states that the shelf is best used for a VCR or DVD player, it would be just as useful for a game
computer console. The whole unit fits snugly into a corner and so would be best for a small television in a
bedroom. Lack of space would not be a problem with this shelving unit. It is made with solid cedar wood for a high
quality finish and the mounting strip is hidden behind the shelf to give the popular impression that it is floating
in mid air. There is also a cord grommet to keep all the cords together neatly behind the TV.
If your television is sat on a stand, many of these come with
extra shelves for your extra components. These also come in different shapes and sizes, with some of the most
popular being chrome and silver or glass. The 3 Shelves Plasma TV Table by Luxor is a simple black stand on wheels.
It has three shelves including the one for the television so you should have plenty of room for other components
and if you want to move it all together it can be easily done.
Of course, you could always keep your entertainment equipment
on the floor where it is in danger of being kicked, spilt on and damaged. But if you prefer your DVD player to be
in working order it is best to purchase a TV stand, shelf or wall mount with an under TV shelf.
